Sheffield Style By Didd

by Didd R.

If you happen to be in Sheffield and you aren't acquainted with the city's trends in term of fashion, well my good old mate Didd has some ideas to share with us: colourful jumpers represent the ultimate "cool pieces", combined, of course, with nude trashy skirts and a pair of black boots. Spectacular!

Morning Sunlight By Andra

by Andra V.

Piece of advice: admire this photo while drinking a cup of French Vanilla, listening to Lily Allen and Professor Green's Just be good to green and focusing on nothing but you and your pleasures. Hihi!

Post Scriptum: Told you Andra was wicked!

Multicolour Happiness By Didd

by Didd R.

If you're asking yourselves why I've chosen this title for a post which has nothing to do with human emotions, but with food, well, please allow me to enlighten you. To me the definition of happiness is cupcakes and the definition of cupcakes is happiness :-) Because, let's face it, no man or job on this planet will ever be able to make you feel as blissful as a vanilla cupcake...

Jewelry Or Cookies? By Didd

by Didd R.

Ever since I was born I've had the biggest dilemma ever: what should I choose between sweets and jewelry? The problem is that I equally love them both :-D

Andra's Idea Of Photography

Last week you had the possibility of meeting my lovely Didd, who is a wicked photographer/visual artist. This week I am going to present you the rest of The Yellow Buzz's team, which consists of me, Bianca, Didd and another good friend of mine who happens to be a gorgeous 18 year-old girl named Andra. Visan Miu Andra is from Bucharest, Romania, has just graduated from high-school and is currently attending the National University of Arts in Bucharest. She has big dreams... she wants to become the next Steven Meisel or, even better, Patrick Demarchelier. Usually, when meeting and talking to a person with such big plans I would roll my eyes and smile ironically, because, let's face it, Demarchelier, Testino and Meisel are unique; but every rule has its exception and Andra is actually THE ONLY EXCEPTION! Because, I can really say that she has that kind of talent which quite a few posses and her photos are extraordinary. She'll be collaborating with me and Didd and presenting her stunning work on my blog. Wow! Lucky meee! With such a crew, who needs to be a journalist? :-)

Photos, Photos, Click, Click, Click @Didd

Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please? Good. So, if you've ever read my blog (which I hope you've done) or if you are my friend on Facebook (FB fever eh, eh, eh) or if... anyway, if you like what I write about and exactly THE WAY I write it, you may have noticed that I use my blog to give you good information on fashion, music, films and all that has to do with the glamorous life of the 21st century. I use my blog to present you the brilliant work of talented people who haven't been so lucky like Justin Bieber has, to become a Disney product and, then, a money-machine... I use my blog to enlighten your creative minds and to inspire you... I use my blog to create a cooler world, actually! So, it didn't come as a surprise when a very good friend of mine left me speechless and I said to myself "Oh boy, this girl simply has to have her own corner on my blog! Because, fuck it, she deserves it!" So, ta, ta, ra, raaam! This is Didd! She's one of my best mates and she's from Bucharest, Romania, currently studying architecture in Sheffield, England, occupying her spare time with photography, fashion, Indie culture and arts. Most importantly: her photographs worth to be saved to your PCs because she really creates masterpieces!

Paris Fashion Week Autumn 2010 - A Short Recap

As you all may already know, in terms of fashion and parties, fall is the most busy time of the year. We have to focus on NYC, London, Paris and Milan, places where the most divine designers on this planet present what we are going to wear this spring. Paris Fashion Week is the most important fashion event in history, so I will make a short summary of the most spectacular collections.

Beige, beige and again beige
If you've read my articles about all 3 fashion weeks that took place this fall, you may have noticed that I talk very much about black and beige. Truth is, these 2 colours really are the most common colours used by designers. So I really don't have much to say. My job and also Hèrmes and Chloé's job is to persuade you fashionistas to love, even ADORE beige. Wear it whenever you feel like it!

Haute-couture
There's a reason why Paris is called "the city of lights". I'm not a fan of French or France, but I am in love with Paris, though I've never been there. Paris is the perfect place for labels such as Zac Posen, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen or Elie Saab to present their ultimate couture collections. Because it's all about elegance, sensuality, passion and beauty. And, if you ask me, all these 4 designers create pieces which are worth to be worn. McQueen takes flowers to a whole other level and fancies the concept of "black roses", Elie Saab continues reinventing silk, Yves Saint Laurent creates some terrific colour combinations such as black-fuchsia and Zac Posen makes us adore black lace dresses even more than we did before. C'est magnifique

A multicolour spring
Whenever I look at Dior, John Galliano and Costume National's collections for this upcoming season I feel like watching the O.C. California and book a plane ticket to L.A. Because these 4 labels really love neon colours and, therefore, summer. Make sure to wear fuchsia, orange, electric blue and lime green and you'll soon become the definition of  the word "energy".

Baby-doll? Of course!
I remember that almost 3 years ago in 2007 all women and girls would wear baby-doll dresses and tops. It was like a breath of fresh air in the fashion industry. Among lots of black appeared something very pink and girly. This year, Valentino and Loewe are still big fans of baby-doll outfits and create them in their own way. Valentino loves bows and makes sure to apply them on every single outfit and Loewe loves pink and wants girls to feel... well, girly. The question is, which one would you wear?

Lots of leather
If you spend at least 3 h/week with me, you must be aware of my little Balmain obsession, well, among many other obsessions I have :-) I love leather, I love ripped jeans, I love metal, I love smokey-eyes and short dresses which gently reveal your back. I love fashion in general, but this particular style that Nicolas Ghèsquiere has reinvented is my absolute favourite. So, you can imagine my facial expression when seeing the new Balmain collection for the upcoming season. I was absolutely THRILLED! Another thing which I really fancy is Givenchy's new black leather vests. Oh and those lovely long skirts that model Abbey Lee has the habit of wearing. Lovely!

Don't go anywhere because I'm not done yet. I can't let you leave until I tell you that Chanel's new collection is based on its famous fabric blazers which Coco Chanel herself invented back in the early 20th century, Louis Vuitton created this entire collection thinking of the Eastern influences and Stella McCartney gives a whole new definition of the masculine style... I mean, look at those large blazers. They look like your grandpa's ancient jackets, BUT they're fancy as hell!

Alexander McQueen Backstage At Paris Fashion Week Autumn 2010

With Paris Fashion Week just around the corner, I've thought you have to see these photos taken backstage at Alexander McQueen's show. Photographer Agata Pospieszynska captures all the good moments in backstage, offering us the possibility to see McQueen's most recent collection after his tragic death earlier this year. This spring's motto is as much volume and couture as one can wear. Ah and flowers are also McQueen's absolute favourites this next season :-)

Milan Fashion Week Autumn 2010 - A Short Recap

As you all may already know, in terms of fashion and parties, fall is the most busy time of the year. We have to focus on NYC, London, Paris and Milan, cities where the most divine designers on this planet present what we are going to wear this spring. Milan Fashion Week is already over, so I will make a short summary of the most spectacular collections.

Innocent white
Whether we fancy classy dresses which inspire nothing but elegance and refinement or we're in love with bows and cotton dresses, which are both easy to wear and feminine, white my ladies is the perfect colour for this new season. Don't think of weddings and marriages, think of romantic picnics on the countryside or sophisticated events you may have to attend. Dolce&Gabbana and Versace created these new collections for those women who love to engross everybody's attention.

Beige is the new red
Yes, indeed. Beige really is the new red in terms of sexy clothes. Iceberg and Salvatore Ferragamo simply love beige and try to use it as often as they can. It doesn't matter if it's day or night, if you have to go to your grandma's 89th birthday party or to accompany your boyfriend to his business meeting , all the people in the fashion industry and I advise you to wear BEIGE!

Iceberg

Salvatore Ferragamo

We go back to black
I honestly think that black is the only colour which will never be "out". Seriously. Black leather trousers, black leather jackets, black trenches, little black dresses, black shoes, black purses, black lingerie.... all these will always remain "in" for those who love fashion. The perfect proof is here... after decades Giorgio Armani and Bottega Veneta are still big fans of black and continue reinventing it.

Oh, sweet 70's!
Moschino has always been the number one label when it comes to fantasizing, imagining and creating a whole new universe in terms of fashion. The most recent collection describes the 70's, a period of time marked by huge changes in fashion, cinematography, music and arts. Wear volume red skirts and navy blue tops and you will definitely look gorgeous!

Moschino

A different kind of animal print
Blumarine has always been known and respected for creating luxurious feminine dresses perfectly accessorised with diamond jewelry and a pair of stilettos or sandals. The perfect mixture between elegance, hotness and glam. But this season I advise you to forget about all these sophisticated dresses and skirts and to become a big fan of animal prints... not the ordinary animal prints, but the new multicolour animal print collection designed by Blumarine. You will love it!

London Fashion Week Autumn 2010 - A Short Recap

As you all may already know, in terms of fashion and parties, fall is the most busy time of the year. We have to focus on NYC, London, Paris and Milan, cities where the most divine designers on this planet present what we are going to wear this spring. London Fashion Week is already over, so I will make a short summary of the most spectacular collections.

Homme fatale
British designer Paul Smith seems to really appreciate the masculine side of a woman. That's why the main idea of his collection for the upcoming season consists of tuxedos, XXL shirts and tight jeans. Though, he does pay tribute to feminism by adding a pair of stilettos to the original outfit. Magnificent!

Paul Smith

Oh, we do love dresses!
I've always thought of a dress as the most beautiful piece of clothing a woman could possibly wear. Whether it's winter, autumn, summer or spring, one can always rely on a dress. Julien MacDonald and Matthew Williamson also fancy dresses, especially those pale spring ones which inspire nothing but beauty and romanticism.

Trenches and belts
Burberry will always be the number 1 brand on this planet when it comes to trenches and the multiple ways one can wear a trench. The new Burberry Prorsum collection for the next season is all about trenches... whether they're short, long, black or beige, Burberry loves them. And, apparently, combines them with anything from vintage dresses to short skirts and tight jeans. Remarkable!

Happy colours remind us of sandy beaches
... and so do Tommy Hilfiger, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors's collections for the upcoming season. Simple, practical and flashy! I'm seriously in the mood for a Mojito now...

Nude is cool!
And that's also what Oscar de la Renta, Alexander Wang and Donna Karan thought of when creating these brilliant collections. Nude will always be the perfect pale colour for spring, so...

Beige and camel are trés chic!
Not only is camel the fundamental colour of this fall, but also of the upcoming spring. Mulberry, Ralph Lauren and DKNY really seem to fancy it.

Geometry class
I can't say I love geometry... I don't even do a course in math anymore (but I'm a pro when it comes to Latin though :-D). But when I see triangles and circles and all kinds of lines and curves on Diane von Furstenberg and Anna Sui's pieces, I suddenly feel inspired...

Flower power
Marc Jacobs created something memorable, that's for sure! The runway couldn't have been more theatrical than this! All these colourful dresses that remind us of the beautiful '70s, these huge flowers... I almost feel like I'm spending a lovely afternoon in my grandma's garden :-) Idyllic.
