New York Fashion Week Spring 2011- A Short Recap

There's a reason why we all wait with such pleasure for spring to arrive and enchant us with its fresh flowers and sun rays. Not only is "the departure" of snow important when thinking of spring, but also the festive atmosphere in New York, London, Milan and Paris. Why festive? Because we finally get acquainted with the latest trends in fashion as far as autumn is concerned. I shall begin by making a short summary of the most divine collections presented at New York Fashion Week.
I've noticed that people tend to associate autumn with dark colours and dreary days but they couldn't be more wrong. Labels such as DKNY, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, Carolina Herrera and Diane von Furstenberg aim at teaching women to be cheerful and adore electric tones. Another thing which you should bare in mind is that fur is also popular amidst this autumn's trends. Oscar de la Renta, Anna Sui and Donna Karan seem to particularly take a fancy to it. However, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Alexander Wang stick to leather and opt for motorcycle jackets. XXL jumpers are also very popular (needless to say that they're also cosy and comfy) and Michael Kors and Vera Wang like them. For sure. Marc Jacobs seems to be in a league of its own with its dotted materials as well as Y-3 which reminds us of Scotland and advise us not to throw our tartan skirts/trenches away. They will always be in!
In conclusion, the range of styles is extremely wide and that certainly means that you are at an advantage. For whatever your look is, you will find a possibility of being fashionable this autumn.

Monday Photo: Some Girls Never Stop Being Happy And Dandy...

I start this new week with an optimistic thought (for a new week obviously contains the word "new" which suggests prosperity and optimism; also, a new week starts with Monday and I for one hate Mondays. A bit of a contradiction, eh?) and therefore I attempt to make you all see the bright side of your lives, live every moment as it is all you've got left and fall head over heels in love with fashion and beauty. This photo happens to subscribe to all the psychological theories mentioned above, so keep calm and be flashy! Like this fetching girl here... called Coco beautiful Rocha!

Spring 2011 Campaigns: Cosy&Glamorous

Now, another option for you to stay IN and follow this season's trends is to go shopping for spring colourful jumpers, short trousers and fetching blazers. Isabel Marant and Iceberg shall be your absolute guides when it comes to this particular cosy, but glamorous style. I know... how can you wear a jumper during spring? Trust me, if it's a little bit chilly outside and you choose to wear a Marant cotton pullover, you will be just fine my dear.

Spring 2011 Campaigns: Animal Instincts

Nowadays animal-print is so damn accessible and its many forms and colours are so various that one can truly admit that, in terms of prints, this is the most wearable trend ever. Go to a gig wearing a pair of animal-print trousers, everyone will fancy you. Go to the beach wearing an animal-print swimming suit, boys will go mental. Go to your grandma's 78th birthday dressed with a leopard dress, she will think you are retro. See? Puuurrrrfect! You will love Just Cavalli and Roberto Cavalli's new spring campaigns.

Spring 2011 Campaigns: Trés Sophistiqué

Just by observing the title you can figure out that this is Chanel, Miu Miu, Gucci and Elie Saab's special spot. You can say whatever you want, but when wearing those classic blazers from Chanel, those colourful silk shirts from Gucci or, maybe, a dress from Elie Saab, you always engross everybody's attention. Guaran-f****n'-teed! So don't be afraid to go back to classicism and elegance. It works every time!

Spring 2011 Campaigns: White&Pure

White has always been associated with innocence, kindness and freshness. Until this new season, no one has ever thought of white as a privilege of looking sexy and, at the same time, simple. Natural. Truth is, camel, black and white are this year's highlights when it comes to colours. Take a look over Chloé, Versace and Calvin Klein's proposals and find out what suits you best: a blazer, a minimalistic dress or a trench?

Spring 2011 Campaigns: Jeans&Stuff

I will never ever give up on a pair of jeans and a cool shirt, especially if I want to show people how the concept of "high-fashion" can perfectly go hand-in-hand with comfort and coolness. For THAT you are in desperate need of Guess, Eleven Paris and Sisley.

If you are more of a rock girl who goes crazy about glitter, ripped jeans, biker jackets and stuff, then brands such as Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci and Burberry will definitely suit you this season. And, bonus, you will never walk on the street without making everybody exclaim "wow!".

Spring 2011 Campaigns: Sandy&Warm

I know that even it is the middle of fuckin' winter neither of you feel like writing thousands of reports and tests or, if you are a responsible adult, running errands and stay in an office 8 h/day. That's why I've thought I could do a nice thing for you and show you what brands such as Michael Kors, Salvatore Ferragamo or Stefanel advise you to wear this upcoming season. You know what they say, summer is always around the corner!

Spring 2011 Campaigns: Fruity&Cheerful

Among other trends that have been promoted in the fashion industry this year, colourful outfits created from comfortable pieces such as long dresses or linen trousers can really provide you with everything that you need to stay IN and continue inspiring people with your sense of style. Marc by Marc Jacobs, Céline, Fendi, Prada, Marc Jacobs and D&G seem to agree with me. Do you?
