London Fashion Week Autumn 2010 - A Short Recap

As you all may already know, in terms of fashion and parties, fall is the most busy time of the year. We have to focus on NYC, London, Paris and Milan, cities where the most divine designers on this planet present what we are going to wear this spring. London Fashion Week is already over, so I will make a short summary of the most spectacular collections.

Homme fatale
British designer Paul Smith seems to really appreciate the masculine side of a woman. That's why the main idea of his collection for the upcoming season consists of tuxedos, XXL shirts and tight jeans. Though, he does pay tribute to feminism by adding a pair of stilettos to the original outfit. Magnificent!

Oh, we do love dresses!
I've always thought of a dress as the most beautiful piece of clothing a woman could possibly wear. Whether it's winter, autumn, summer or spring, one can always rely on a dress. Julien MacDonald and Matthew Williamson also fancy dresses, especially those pale spring ones which inspire nothing but beauty and romanticism.

Trenches and belts
Burberry will always be the number 1 brand on this planet when it comes to trenches and the multiple ways one can wear a trench. The new Burberry Prorsum collection for the next season is all about trenches... whether they're short, long, black or beige, Burberry loves them. And, apparently, combines them with anything from vintage dresses to short skirts and tight jeans. Remarkable!

Happy colours remind us of sandy beaches
... and so do Tommy Hilfiger, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors's collections for the upcoming season. Simple, practical and flashy! I'm seriously in the mood for a Mojito now...

Nude is cool!
And that's also what Oscar de la Renta, Alexander Wang and Donna Karan thought of when creating these brilliant collections. Nude will always be the perfect pale colour for spring, so...

Beige and camel are trés chic!
Not only is camel the fundamental colour of this fall, but also of the upcoming spring. Mulberry, Ralph Lauren and DKNY really seem to fancy it.

Geometry class
I can't say I love geometry... I don't even do a course in math anymore (but I'm a pro when it comes to Latin though :-D). But when I see triangles and circles and all kinds of lines and curves on Diane von Furstenberg and Anna Sui's pieces, I suddenly feel inspired...

Flower power
Marc Jacobs created something memorable, that's for sure! The runway couldn't have been more theatrical than this! All these colourful dresses that remind us of the beautiful '70s, these huge flowers... I almost feel like I'm spending a lovely afternoon in my grandma's garden :-) Idyllic.
